Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (B.H.M.S.)

Homeopathy is the treatment of disease with a highly diluted substance that is able to provoke similar signs and symptoms in a healthy body (treatment by similar).It’s a branch of medicine based on the principle that "like cures like". Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery is an Undergraduate Academic Degree awarded for a course or program in the field of Homoeopathy. It is also known as B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery). The duration of B.H.M.S. is five years The internship shall be undertaken at the hospital attached to the college after the completion of the five year professional BHMS course. The period of internship is one year.This course is conducted by the UNIVERSITY OF DHAKA. Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery degree as a holistic alternative medicine degree provides basic and in depth knowledge of the Homoeopathic medicinal system. B.H.M.S. course include three colleges in Bangladesh. Two colleges in Dhaka and others is Mymenshing. Among them one is Govt. and others are private.

Eligibility

• You need Higher Secondary examination certificate (H.S.C.) from science group or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as his subjects for getting admitted to B.H.M.S.

Duration

• Six years (five years academic and one year internship in college hospital)

The BHMS degree holder can also work as a private practitioner or can become a part of faculty in any homoeopathic institute in Bangladesh.
